Mayor  G. Richard Gatanis
Mr. Gatanis currently serves as Mayor of Carneys Point Township as well as on the Planning Board. He also chairs the Police, Fire & Rescue and Industrial committees. Past Member, Carneys Point Twp. Committee, 6 yrs; Mayor of Carneys Point, 2007; Member Carneys Point Planning Board, 3 yrs; Sewage Authority, 4 yrs; Owner South Jersey Sporting Goods, 25 yrs; retired DuPont, 29 yrs service; Member, YMCA Executive Board; Former Head Baseball Coach Salem Community College; Former Football Coach of St. James High School; Member Salem County Sports Hall of Fame Cmte; Carneys Point Penns Grove Historical Society; Member, Bethel Bible Baptist Church; Graduate Salem High School; Massanutten Military Academy VA; Attended East Carolina College, Wife Barbara; 4 Children, 6 Grandchildren

Deputy Mayor Charles Newton
Mr. Newton currently serves as Chairman of the Code Enforcement, Personnel/Administration and Taxes Departments. Charles is retired from General Motors with 30 years of service, and was a Union Shop Steward for 27 years for UAW Local 435. Mr. Newton was Honorably Discharged from the United State Marine Corps and is a 20 year member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Newton has also held the position of Vice President and President of the Teachers Union for the PG/CP School System. Charles has been married for 52 years, has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  


Committeeman Ken Brown
Mr. Brown currently serves as Chairman of Public Works, Municipal Court, Planning Board and the JIF Joint Insurance Fund. Ken is a Security Operations Manager at Allied Barton Security Services, and a Retired Master Sergeant of the US Air Force/National Guard with 20 years service. Mr. Brown is a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Pastorial Council, as well as a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Delaware. Ken has been married to Andrea for 42 years and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Committeeman Marcus E. Dowe                   Mr. Dowe currently serves as Chairman of Recreation and Animal Control.  Marcus Edward Edward Dowe Jr., is the son of Marcus and Denise Dowe, Brother of LaTika Dowe, Significant other of Kateri Ramsingh, and Father of Arianna Dowe. Marcus was born and raised in Penns Grove New Jersey.  Durning his time in Penns Grove, he attended Penns Grove High School, and became a graduate of the class of 1998.  After graduating, he attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where Physical Education and health became his major.  During his time at UMES he became a loyal brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. In the fall of 2004 he began his first teaching position in Camden NJ, where he taught P.E./ Health to grades Pre K - 5. Marcus later pursue a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, graduating  in 2006 with goals of becoming an Athletic Director one day. Marcus continued to teach in Camden for 2 years before returning home to becoming employed in the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Regional School District.   After being hired in Penns Grove, he has earned the position of Head Coach for Girls Spring Track and Field and assistant coach for indoor Track and Field.  This past Spring he became the first girls coach along with the first girls team to win South Jersey Group title in School History! Marcus has assisted with incorporating a young men's mentoring group call (R.O.P.E) Reaching Out In Plain English. Marcus is currently a member of Second Baptist Church of Pedrickton. He currently a member for (MASPA) Municipal Alliance of PG-CP, MASPA is a community involvement group that operates and functions for the community and schools.  He is currently trying to be the best father, teacher, coach and committeeman that he can be.  GOD has blessed him with these gifts and talents so that he can help make a difference!

Committeeman Wayne Pelura
Mr. Pelura previous served as Mayor of Carneys Point Township in 2008, 2010, 2011 & 2012. He currently chairs Health & Safety, and  Finance Committee. Wayne also served on the Planning Board. He also served as a volunteer member of the Carneys Point Industrial Commission for 2 years, and as Chairman of the Recreation Commission from 1997 until he was elected to the Township Committee in 2008. Born and raised in Carneys Point, Wayne is married to Trisha and has 4 Children and 1 grandchild.
